Central Conservatory of Music was founded in the year of 1950. It was nominated the national key school in 1960. There is composing department, musicology department, acoustic song department, piano department, orchestral instrument department, folk music department, music education department, basic educational department, and the subordinate middle school, primary school, further education department, distance musical education department, and etc. Meanwhile, the school has set up a musical technology department as the centre of education and scientific research, including the centre of cello making and researching centre, modern electronic music centre, music curing centre, and voice researching centre and etc. In the year of 2000, the school set up its Music Researching Centre of Central Conservatory of Music which was considered as the unique human sociology base in all the art schools in China. The school has also set up the department of music education, the social music certification test committee, the Central Conservatory of Music pubic house and the global video public house. It has formed its fixed pattern of education and settled its fame both at home and abroad.
